Match summary
Leon secured a dramatic late victory over FC Juarez at the Estadio León in Mexico's top flight, ultimately triumphing 2-1 after a tense encounter. The home side initially struggled to break down a resolute Juarez defense, with early yellow cards for Sebastián Vegas and Juan Guevara disrupting Leon's rhythm. Both teams made multiple substitutions throughout the second half as they searched for an advantage. The deadlock was finally broken in the 76th minute when Francisco Nevarez found the net for Leon, only for FC Juarez to equalize in the dying moments of regulation time through Oscar Estupiñan. However, Leon responded immediately, with Jose Alvarado, assisted by Edgar Guerra, netting the decisive goal in the 90th minute to seal a hard-fought three points for the Esmeraldas.
