FC Gifu secured their passage in the Emperor Cup with a commanding 3-1 victory over Toyama Shinjo at the Gifu Memorial Center Nagaragawa Ball Field. The home side took control of the contest in the second half, with a brace from H. Take proving decisive. Take opened his account in the 45th minute, giving Gifu a slender lead at the break. He then doubled their advantage in the 74th minute, before J. Izumisawa added a third just five minutes later to seemingly put the game beyond doubt. Despite a late consolation strike from E.
