Match summary
Bohemians secured a thrilling 5-3 victory over Derry City at Dalymount Park in a Premier Division encounter that ebbed and flowed with dramatic intensity. Derry City drew first blood through M. Duffy in the 34th minute, but Bohs responded emphatically after the break. P. Hickey levelled the scores in the 47th minute, assisted by J. Flores, before C. Parsons put the hosts ahead just three minutes later, set up by D. Devoy. D. James-Taylor then extended their lead in the 52nd minute, making it three goals in quick succession. The complexion of the game shifted dramatically when J. Clarke saw red for Derry City in the 55th minute, although T. Smith pulled one back for the visitors in the 62nd minute. However, R. Tierney then stole the show, netting a brace in the 78th and 87th minutes, the latter assisted by D. Devoy, to seemingly seal the win. Despite a late consolation from M. Duffy for Derry City in the 90th minute, the five-goal haul from Bohemians proved too much for their depleted opposition.
